Three mobile network customers have been advised to stay alert as the provider has issued a cautionary message, urging them to be cautious about potential financial risks. The telecommunications company, recognized as one of the prominent networks in Britain, has communicated to its customer base, emphasizing the importance of taking immediate action. It has explicitly stated that authentic communications from the company will never request customers for their One-Time Passcode (OTP) and that any such request should be considered fraudulent. The company clarified that the only legitimate instance where customers might be asked for their OTP is when they directly contact the company.
Serving a significant customer base exceeding 10 million individuals, the operator has elaborated that customers should refrain from sharing any OTP received via text or email with anyone claiming to be from the company through phone or social media channels. Fraudsters may attempt to deceive customers by offering substantial discounts on their current price plan before requesting the OTP code, thereby trying to gain unauthorized access to their accounts.
In case customers receive suspicious texts, they are advised to report them by forwarding the messages to 7726. Similarly, for suspicious calls, customers are instructed to text the word “CALL” along with the number to 7726 for further action.
This warning comes in the context of recent evaluations of the UK’s mobile network providers. As previously highlighted, Three secured the top spot in the rankings due to its exceptional speed performance, recording an average download speed of 214Mbps, significantly outperforming its closest competitor by over 80Mbps. Ookla, the independent network testing authority, verified these results, confirming that Three has been recognized as the Fastest 5G Network in the United Kingdom for Q3-Q4 2025 based on Speed Score assessments, which take into account download and upload speeds as well as latency metrics to evaluate overall speed performance.
