Pop star and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors accusing her of fraud for allegedly not meeting obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
Investors put in around $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with a focus on enhancing “mental fitness.” The legal complaint, filed in federal court in Delaware, claims that Gomez, known for her massive social media following exceeding 500 million, was supposed to play a key role in the company’s marketing efforts. However, investors claim that Gomez and other executives of the company failed to fulfill promises, such as the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit alleges that Gomez signed a contract committing to her responsibilities but did not follow through. The plaintiffs contend that the company did not have a viable business plan and failed to meet fundamental obligations like timely payment of staff and vendors.
A representative for Gomez has not provided a response to the allegations. The lawsuit asserts that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news article surfaced online in September 2025, revealing the issues. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
