“WWE 2K26 Introduces Controversial Ringside Pass DLC”

WWE fans were initially thrilled about the upcoming release of WWE 2K26, with promises of over 400 playable characters, new match types, and exciting features. However, the latest announcement from 2K Games has left many fans disappointed.

Set for launch on March 12, or on March 6 for pre-orders and early access editions, WWE 2K26 will introduce a different approach to delivering downloadable content (DLC) this year. Instead of the traditional method of releasing DLC packs periodically, 2K Games will implement a battle pass system known as the Ringside Pass.

The Ringside Pass will consist of six seasons of content throughout the year, featuring both free and premium tracks of rewards. Players can earn Ringside XP (RXP) by participating in matches across various game modes to progress through the pass. Notably, content that was previously paid for will now be accessible through the pass, requiring players to accumulate RXP to unlock them.

This shift in DLC delivery has sparked outrage among gamers, with some expressing concerns over potential high costs associated with unlocking all content. 2K Games has assured players that certain WWE Legends, typically acquired through in-game purchases, will now be available on the free track of the first season’s pass, offering more opportunities to earn RXP without additional expenses.

Despite the new system offering tier skips for purchase in the premium track, players can still unlock rewards solely by playing the game. The community’s response on social media has been mixed, with some criticizing the perceived greed in the DLC model, while others have decided to opt-out of the game until significant changes are made.

As the debate continues, WWE 2K26’s innovative approach to DLC distribution has sparked a conversation within the gaming community about fairness, value, and the future of in-game purchases.
