Sky viewers who enjoy movie marathons will notice a significant change on their screens soon. Sky has announced a channel list revamp merging Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family, effective from April 30. The combination aims to streamline the service, offering a single destination for family-friendly films on channel 304.
Following the transition, viewers can access a variety of beloved titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one place. While there will be one less channel available, all content previously featured on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family.
For fans of Sky Cinema Animation, there is a silver lining. Although the standalone channel will no longer be available, it will make a temporary return during school holidays to entertain kids. Sky confirmed its availability from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.
In addition to these changes, Sky has ventured into the home security sector with the introduction of new smart devices. Customers can opt for a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month, with a £15 upfront fee, featuring full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.
Those seeking enhanced features can choose the Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 monthly and a £20 upfront cost. This package includes an indoor camera and extra app controls, allowing for scheduled arming and automatic device modes.
Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, expressed the company’s goal of making premium smart technology more accessible. Sky has prioritized features valued by customers, ensuring simplicity of use, ease of management, and affordability.
