Epic Games has revealed a significant upcoming update for consoles and PC, including a fresh Valentine’s Day event.
The upcoming Fortnite update 39.40 will feature a crossover with Chappell Roan, showcasing new skins, items, and music for the Fortnite Festival. Additionally, players can look forward to participating in the Love and Legends event that spans the month of February.
However, players will need to wait a bit longer to access the new content as it will only be available after a scheduled period of server downtime. This maintenance window is set by Fortnite developer Epic Games for the morning of February 5.
The announcement of this update and downtime schedule was made by Epic Games on X, confirming that matchmaking services will be temporarily disabled before the update rollout.
Epic Games shared on Twitter, “Love and Legends unite in February! Downtime for v39.40 starts at 4 AM ET with matchmaking stopping shortly before.” For players in the UK, server maintenance will commence at 9am GMT, with matchmaking disabled around 8.30am GMT.
As per the Epic Games server status page, the maintenance period is slated to last 90 minutes, meaning the game is expected to be back online by 10.30am GMT UK time, equivalent to 2.30am PDT / 5.30am EDT / 11.30am CET.
It’s important to note that maintenance durations can sometimes be extended, so players are advised to stay tuned for any updates.
