Meanwhile, Russia launched assaults on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, causing destruction to industrial sites and a residential building. Amidst the harsh winter conditions in Kyiv, with temperatures dropping below -16C, the city awaits confirmation that Russia will adhere to an agreement to temporarily halt attacks on Ukraine’s power grid.

Although President Trump claimed that Putin agreed to a week-long ceasefire on targeting Ukrainian cities, Zelensky remained skeptical about Russia’s intentions to end the conflict. Ukraine expressed readiness to cease attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure if Moscow reciprocates by halting strikes on Ukrainian power facilities.
