“UK and China Strike Deal: Britons Can Visit Visa-Free”

Britons will have the opportunity to visit China without the need for a visa following an agreement to ease travel restrictions. This new arrangement allows tourists and business travelers to bypass the visa application process for stays of up to 30 days.

The decision was disclosed by Keir Starmer following discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, aiming to enhance economic relations. This aligns the UK with 50 other nations, such as France, Germany, Italy, Australia, and Japan.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of facilitating British businesses to expand their presence in China, a major global economic hub. The relaxed visa regulations for short-term visits are intended to support companies in their overseas expansion efforts, thereby stimulating growth and job creation domestically.

Additionally, both countries are exploring the possibility of establishing a service agreement to provide clear and legally binding guidelines for UK companies operating in China. The UK, being the second-largest exporter of services worldwide, is experiencing a rising demand from China in various sectors.

Forecasts indicate significant growth in Chinese imports of professional and business services, financial services, and digital services from 2023 to 2035. Business Secretary Peter Kyle highlighted the substantial growth opportunities for services in sectors like law, finance, healthcare, and education.

The visit also includes the participation of prominent UK enterprises, emerging businesses, and key figures from cultural and service industries to foster collaboration, showcase strengths, and create new business prospects for Britain.
