Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as the brand-new HBO Max service has launched, offering a plethora of popular titles at no extra cost. Subscribers with a Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy hit shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more without the usual £4.99 monthly fee, saving over £50.
Sky confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate plans will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, well-known in the USA, boasts a vast collection of HBO dramas, including classics like The Wire and new Max Originals such as The Pitt, along with a wide range of Warner Bros. films.
Getting started with HBO Max is a breeze for eligible customers. By launching the HBO Max app from the homepage, subscribers can activate the service by following simple on-screen instructions for seamless on-demand streaming.
For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to it is an option starting at £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st). This package includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW, bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together in a single subscription, offering unparalleled entertainment integration.”
NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max integrated into the NOW app at no additional charge. Non-Sky subscribers can opt to sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
