“Vodafone and TalkTalk Top UK Broadband Complaints”

The latest report from Ofcom reveals the winners and losers in the UK broadband market. Vodafone and TalkTalk are facing higher complaints, with Vodafone recording the lowest score of 11 complaints per 100,000 customers, indicating a decline in customer satisfaction.

Ofcom confirmed that TalkTalk and Vodafone were the most complained-about providers, with Vodafone showing an increase in complaints compared to the previous quarter. In contrast, Virgin Media, which historically performed poorly in such tests, emerged as one of the least complained-about providers along with Plusnet.

The rankings for broadband complaints per 100,000 customers are as follows:
– Virgin Media: 5 complaints
– Plusnet: 5 complaints
– Sky: 7 complaints
– BT: 8 complaints
– EE: 8 complaints
– TalkTalk: 10 complaints
– Vodafone: 11 complaints

Additionally, Ofcom monitors other services like landlines and pay-TV complaints. Utility Warehouse stood out with just 1 complaint per 100,000 for landline services, while TalkTalk and Sky led in the TV complaints category.

For TV complaints per 100,000 customers, the standings are:
– TalkTalk: 2 complaints
– Sky: 2 complaints
– Virgin Media: 3 complaints
– EE: 5 complaints

Overall, complaints across services have seen an increase, attributed mainly to recent price hikes affecting many households in the UK. Cristina Luna-Esteban, Ofcom’s Director of Consumers and Retail Markets, expressed disappointment in the rising complaints, particularly following a period of declining complaints. She highlighted unexpected price rises for mobile customers as a key driver and pledged to monitor the market for ongoing customer satisfaction concerns.
