Tragic Death at Helen’s Bay Beach: Woman in 60s Passes Away

A woman in her 60s passed away after encountering difficulties at Helen’s Bay beach on Saturday afternoon. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) responded to a call at 1 pm and transported the woman to the hospital, where she later succumbed. Authorities have confirmed that her death is not deemed suspicious. Witnesses provided immediate assistance before various emergency units arrived at the scene.

Emergency responders, including a Coastguard helicopter, Bangor and Portaferry Coastguard rescue teams, and police, attended the incident. The response team comprised a rapid response paramedic, a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) crew, a critical care paramedic, and an ambulance officer.

In total, three individuals, including the deceased woman, required medical attention. Two patients were transferred to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, while a third person was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. NIAS has refrained from disclosing further details regarding the incident.

Independent MP for North Down, Alex Easton, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of the woman and extended sympathies to her family and loved ones during this challenging time.
