“Experts’ Two-Step Method for Perfect Frozen Broccoli Roasting”

Frozen broccoli can be a convenient option for quick meals, especially when fresh vegetables are not available. However, traditional cooking methods like boiling or steaming may not always produce the best results with frozen broccoli.

Experts suggest a simple two-step process to achieve tender yet crispy broccoli. The key is to roast the broccoli, which is a quick and effective technique. Frozen broccoli is partially cooked through blanching before freezing, making it quicker to roast compared to fresh broccoli.

To roast frozen broccoli, preheat the oven and a baking tray to 220C/200F/Gas Mark 7. Spread the frozen broccoli on the heated tray without seasoning and roast for 12 to 15 minutes. After the initial roasting, drizzle with oil, add seasonings, and roast again until the broccoli develops a crispy exterior.

The roasting time can be adjusted based on personal preference to achieve different textures and flavors. Roasting helps remove moisture from the broccoli, ensuring a crispy outcome. Adding oil before roasting prevents excess moisture, leading to a caramelized finish during the final roasting stage.
