Prospective Eurovision participants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents aged 18 or above by May 1, 2027, capable of international travel, and able to pass standard background checks. The application process includes submitting two videos: one showcasing a live, unedited performance and another explaining their passion for Eurovision.
Strong vocal abilities and proficiency in both official languages are essential requirements for singers. The submitted song must feature lyrics, aligning with the bilingual English-French format stipulated by the contest rules.
The applications close on September 9, after which CBC/Radio-Canada will shortlist finalists, with input from music and television experts as well as industry professionals. While established artists may dominate the initial selection, emerging talents are encouraged to participate as well.
