A teenager allegedly dismembered his former girlfriend’s body and fabricated a false story to mislead authorities, as per prosecutors. Luis Antonio Mendez Hernandez, aged 19, was apprehended last month after a disturbing finding at his residence, where the body of Griselda Amarilis Lopez-Racancoj, the mother of his child, was discovered dismembered in white bags and concealed under the bed.

Residents claimed that Lopez-Racancoj had separated from Hernandez just two days before her body was found. Moreover, witnesses stated seeing someone under the shared bed of the couple. Investigators recovered a blood-covered six-inch knife in Hernandez’s closet and pillows with bloodstains consistent with smothering.

Hernandez has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of tampering with a deceased body. He faces charges including first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree murder with extreme indifference, and second-degree murder. According to reports, Hernandez concocted a story claiming he found his girlfriend deceased in bed, did not contact emergency services due to shock, and implied she may have taken her own life.

Despite Hernandez alleging self-inflicted scratches on himself, authorities discovered incriminating evidence and statements contradicting his account. He is currently in custody at Summit County Jail on a substantial bond.
