The parents of a young British girl who was swept out to sea while sitting on a rock at a beach in Morocco during a family holiday have expressed their distress over what they perceive as inadequate assistance from British authorities.

Inaayah Makda, a seven-year-old girl, was carried away by the waves while playing on the beach in Casablanca, separating her from her parents who were also caught in the turbulent waters and couldn’t locate her.

Despite extensive search efforts involving charities, volunteers, and underwater teams, no sign of Inaayah has been discovered yet. Inaayah’s father, Zubair, criticized Moroccan authorities for what he described as a lack of effective support in locating their missing child.

Remaining in Casablanca, the parents have enlisted the help of a private search operator with a helicopter to aid in the search for Inaayah. They have voiced their deep concerns over the perceived limited practical support provided by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).

Stating that they are not requesting the UK government to take over the search operation but to actively engage with Moroccan authorities to enhance search efforts, allocate more resources, and offer necessary coordination and expertise to intensify the search for their daughter.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the parents stressed the need for immediate and practical assistance to escalate the search and mobilize additional resources. They highlighted the importance of international cooperation and support in their quest to find Inaayah.

Acknowledging the assistance received from local volunteers and private initiatives, the parents expressed gratitude but emphasized the need for more substantial support from governmental bodies to navigate complex international processes during this critical time.

The parents reiterated their relentless commitment to finding Inaayah and urged the public to continue keeping her in their thoughts and prayers. The Daily Mirror reached out to the FCDO for comments, and a spokesperson stated that they are actively supporting the family and maintaining communication with local authorities in Morocco.
