“EE Launches Enhanced Scam Guard to Combat UK Scams”

EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing threat of scams in the UK. The upgrade, priced at £2 a month for all pay-monthly mobile customers, aims to provide improved protection against cybercriminals’ evolving tactics.

Since its initial launch in 2024, Scam Guard has already thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the latest upgrade, EE anticipates doubling this figure over the next year.

The core of the new Scam Guard is AI Triple-Lock Protection, a set of digital safety features powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine. Safe Email offers proactive scam protection for email inboxes, while Safe SMS uses advanced AI to detect sophisticated scams in text messages. Additionally, Safe Web shields customers from online scams by blocking malicious websites.

The upgraded service also introduces Scam Assistant, enabling customers to receive instant advice on the safety of texts, emails, websites, and more. Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring further enhance security by alerting users to suspicious activity across their digital footprint.

Malcolm Cubitt, EE’s Director of Product, Mobile, emphasized the importance of adapting to combat evolving fraud threats. With the enhanced Scam Guard service, EE aims to provide customers with robust cybersecurity protection amidst rising scam incidents.
