Tensions between the Trump administration and Iran have been escalating for over a month due to anti-government protests in Iran resulting in numerous fatalities. Trump has been pushing for Iran to engage in negotiations regarding nuclear weapons. Advisor to the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that any US military strike would be considered the beginning of a war with severe consequences.

Trump reiterated his stance on social media platform Truth Social, expressing the deployment of a substantial naval fleet towards Iran and urging quick negotiations for a mutually beneficial agreement.
