In Nigeria, the driver involved in the tragic car crash with former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has made a court appearance. The incident led to the deaths of Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, when their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry near Lagos. Joshua, who sustained injuries, survived the crash and was hospitalized.

Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, attended Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state near Lagos, with his case postponed to March 13. He faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and reckless and negligent driving, among others. Kayode, who was released on bail, has not entered a plea and awaits further evidence collection by prosecutors.

Following his recovery and discharge from the hospital, Joshua expressed gratitude for the support received during the difficult time after the loss of his colleagues. He emphasized the significant impact of the tragedy on their lives and highlighted their close bond both personally and professionally.

Despite the emotional toll, Joshua is committed to honoring the legacy of his friends and ensuring their dreams are realized. He acknowledged the support system in place to preserve their memory and expressed determination to continue their work.
