“Tragic Plane Crash in Colombia Claims 15 Lives”

A tragic plane crash in Colombia has resulted in the loss of all occupants, as confirmed by authorities. The incident took place during a flight connecting the Cúcuta and Ocaña municipalities, prompting local officials to establish a crisis committee after the plane was reported missing.

The aircraft carried a total of 13 passengers and two crew members. Among those onboard were Diogenes Quintero, a Partido de la U party representative in the House, and Carlos Salcedo, a candidate for peace seats. Satena airline released a passenger list confirming the presence of these individuals on the flight.

Satena issued a translated statement expressing condolences to the families of the deceased and pledged full cooperation in the investigation of the crash. The airline confirmed that the Beechcraft aircraft, with registration HK-4709, operating flight NSE 8849 between Cúcuta and Ocaña, tragically crashed, resulting in the loss of 15 lives.

Colombia’s armed forces, along with the search efforts, were involved in the area controlled by the ELN guerrilla group. Radar data revealed the final location of the aircraft between the municipalities of Hacarí and La Playa de Belén in the Catatumbo region, where the plane was expected to land at noon local time.

The last communication between the flight and air traffic control occurred at 4:55 PM UK time (11:55 am local time). Satena Airlines confirmed the details, stating that Flight NSE 8849, on the Cúcuta-Ocaña route, made its final contact with air traffic control at 11:54 am on the day of the incident.
