“Surrey Council Offers £300 Supermarket Vouchers for Residents”

Surrey County Council is set to provide free supermarket vouchers valued at £300 to numerous households to assist with the cost of living. This initiative falls under the Household Support Fund, established to aid vulnerable families through financial assistance allocated to local authorities.

Residents of Surrey County Council can access the support through the Everyday Essentials E-Voucher scheme if they are facing challenges in meeting their food and essential needs. The vouchers are redeemable at various supermarkets, including Aldi, Asda, Farmfoods, Iceland, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose.

To be eligible for the scheme, individuals must be over 18 years old, reside in Surrey, maintain household savings under £2,000 on average over a 90-day period, and have an annual household income below £27,007.50 before taxes and deductions.

Applicants are required to disclose their income details and any benefits received by their household. Applications for the vouchers open monthly, with the next round available starting from February 3. If the application window is missed, individuals can reapply from March 2. Residents outside of Surrey are advised to inquire with their local council regarding available support options.

Nottingham City Council, for instance, is distributing £100 vouchers to individuals with low income or receiving benefits, with the distribution extending until February 28, 2026. The vouchers, totaling 10,000, will be allocated randomly, allowing previous recipients to apply again since April 2025.

Additionally, Wakefield Council is issuing food vouchers to households on low income receiving council tax assistance, while Blackpool Council is providing energy support of £200 to eligible households of up to two individuals and £300 to qualifying households with three or more people, including children.

To access these aids, individuals must demonstrate financial hardship and challenges in bill payments, providing recent bank statements for all household members as evidence of need.
