“Suffolk Strangler Confesses to 25-Year-Old Murder”

Steve Wright, known as the Suffolk Strangler, has confessed to the murder of Victoria Hall, a 17-year-old girl who disappeared over 25 years ago. Additionally, the 67-year-old admitted to attempting to kidnap Emily Doherty, then 22, in Felixstowe the day prior.

Back in 2008, Wright, a former QE2 steward, received a rare whole life order for the brutal killings of five Ipswich prostitutes, solidifying his status as one of the UK’s most infamous criminals. Despite overwhelming evidence against him, Wright, in a letter sent from prison to Anthony Bond, adamantly maintained his innocence.

The slayings of five young sex workers in Ipswich nearly two decades ago shocked the nation. Gemma Adams, Tania Nicol, Anneli Alderton, Paula Clennell, and Annette Nicholls were all found dead in December 2006, having been strangled or suffocated.

During the trial, it was revealed that Wright meticulously selected and murdered the victims after stalking the streets near his residence. Forensic evidence such as DNA and fibers linked to Wright’s belongings were discovered on the victims.

Following his incarceration, Wright penned a letter from prison that sparked outrage among the victims’ families. Despite his claims of innocence, the families were incensed by his audacity to deny the overwhelming evidence against him.

Now that Wright has confessed to Victoria Hall’s murder, the families of the other victims hope he will also admit to the killings of Gemma, Tania, Anneli, Paula, and Annette.
