Sky has made a surprising announcement by bringing back its beloved channel, Sky One, which was discontinued in 2021. The relaunch, set for later this month, promises a lineup of irresistible comedy and entertainment shows, including new programs like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.
Alongside popular favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs.., The Paper, and Ted, viewers can also look forward to Saturday Night Live UK, scheduled to debut later this year. The revived channel, now located on channel 106, will consolidate the offerings of Sky Showcase and Sky Max, providing a diverse range of entertainment under one roof for easier access to must-watch content.
Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, emphasized the channel’s mission to enhance the viewing experience for Sky TV customers, stating, “Our goal is to make it easier than ever for Sky TV customers to find and enjoy the shows they love.” Echoing the iconic legacy of Sky One, the channel aims to be a vibrant destination, featuring new Sky Originals like The Dyers’ Caravan Park, returning favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., and serving as the home of the highly anticipated Saturday Night Live UK.
Sky One is set to launch on channel 106 on Tuesday, 24 February, marking a significant moment for viewers. The channel update coincides with Sky’s upcoming major event, hinted at in an invitation sent to Mirror Online, teasing, “Big things are coming to Sky TV. Join us to find out more.” Speculation is mounting as Sky is known for hosting in-person launch events only for significant announcements.
The event, scheduled to begin around 10am on February 11 in London’s West End, will be covered live by Mirror Online, providing real-time updates as news unfolds.
