Sky has unveiled an exciting new update that is set to shake up the streaming landscape. The company is launching a comprehensive subscription plan that combines leading streaming services at a reduced monthly rate. Priced at just £24 per month, customers, both new and existing, will gain access to a bundle featuring Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app.
This new offering from Sky is touted as a cost-effective option, providing approximately £20 worth of streaming apps for a fraction of the price. With Sky’s current basic plan priced at £15 per month, subscribers can enjoy the additional content for only £9 more.
In addition to the streaming services, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy a vast selection of over 130 channels, including popular options like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime.
Sky Cinema users will also benefit from a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into the planner, allowing for seamless viewing of Disney blockbusters without the need to open the Disney+ app.
Existing Disney+ subscribers can seamlessly transition their current plans to Sky, maintaining their profiles and viewing history. The supported apps will be easily accessible from the homepage, offering integrated content and convenient features such as voice search and Playlist creation for saving shows and movies.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be available across multiple platforms, including Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q, ensuring a wide reach for customers.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the update, noting that it represents a new era for Sky and NOW. By bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu in a single subscription, customers can expect an integrated viewing experience and great value, with HBO Max included at no extra charge for NOW Entertainment customers.
Sky’s emphasis on innovation continues with this move, aimed at simplifying the premium entertainment experience for viewers by consolidating multiple services into one convenient package.
Included in the update are:
– Netflix Standard with Ads
– Disney+ Standard with Ads (available from March)
– HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching in the UK & Ireland on 26th March)
– Hayu (with select shows available from March)
– Plus over 130 channels from Sky
