Rod Stewart Blasts Trump Over NATO Troops’ Comments

British rock legend Sir Rod Stewart strongly criticized US President Donald Trump for his recent comments regarding NATO troops in Afghanistan. Stewart, an 81-year-old musician who was once a neighbor of Trump, expressed his dismay over the President’s remarks on Fox News.

In a video shared on Instagram, Sir Rod, a Knight of the realm, emphasized his deep respect for the armed forces and condemned Trump’s derogatory remarks towards troops who did not serve on the front lines. He urged UK Prime Minister Starmer and politician Nigel Farage to demand an apology from Trump for his disrespectful comments.

The term “draft dodger” was used by Stewart in reference to Trump’s avoidance of military service during the Vietnam War due to student status and a medical exemption for alleged “bone spurs.”

Following the backlash, Trump responded online, praising the UK soldiers’ bravery and reaffirming the strong bond between the UK and the US military forces. However, Trump stopped short of issuing the apology requested by Sir Rod.

Stewart, who previously considered Trump a friend but now disavows him, highlighted the transformation he observed in Trump since becoming president, stating that he no longer recognizes the person Trump has become.
