This forced holidaymakers and private bookings to be turned away, leaving many stranded without accommodations.

Kimberley Nolan, who traveled with her four children for a summer break, described a scene of children in tears and families stranded outside the park after security staff denied entry. Despite limited pre-warning about the water supply issues, families like Nolan’s made futile attempts to salvage their vacation plans. The closure of food outlets, the pool, and the call to bring personal water supplies added to the frustration.

Following the incident, the park issued statements apologizing for the inconvenience, offering refunds, and expressing gratitude for the public’s support during the crisis. The park’s water supply was eventually restored, allowing for a full reopening on Monday.

Welsh Water also confirmed the restoration of water supply to affected properties and set up bottled water stations. Haven, the park operator, acknowledged the disruption caused by the water main failure, expressing regret over the closure and assuring a prompt reopening post-repair.

Despite the challenges faced by families like Nolan’s, efforts were made to rectify the situation and restore normal operations at the resort.
