“Nintendo Switch 2 Update Adds Kirby Air Riders Grand Prix Mode”

A significant update has been released for the Nintendo Switch 2, introducing a major new feature. The v1.3.0 update for Kirby Air Riders is now available at no cost, offering support for a unique Switch 2 feature, a new game mode, and a fresh set of rules.

The new Grand Prix mode lets players engage in multiple races, similar to the main Mario Kart game mode, to determine an overall winner based on earned points after each race. Additionally, two players can now play together online using the same console.

Kirby Air Riders now supports GameShare, allowing multiplayer gameplay across different Switch consoles via local WiFi using just one game card, whether physical or digital. Only a Switch 2 can host GameShare sessions, which can be done globally online exclusively between Switch 2 systems, with the original Nintendo Switch able to join the sessions. Other titles with GameShare support include Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario 3D World, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.

In addition to these updates, Nintendo has included various bug fixes and balancing adjustments to ensure fair competition among characters and vehicles.

The official description of the update states: “A free software update for Kirby Air Riders on Nintendo Switch 2 is now available, adding GameShare support and other new multiplayer features. Enjoy Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial with other players using just one copy of the game with GameShare. You can share the game via local wireless to other Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles, or online with other Nintendo Switch 2 players via GameChat. You can now select ‘Grand Prix’ when playing Air Ride mode with other players in the paddock. Choose your rider and machine, then compete to earn the most points across multiple races in a row. You can also choose which courses will appear and adjust the number of laps. Want to enjoy modes like City Trial online with a friend in the same room? Good news! Two players can now play online together from the same Nintendo Switch 2 console.”

Moreover, the update brings general improvements, balance adjustments, and bug fixes. It should be noted that replays from Ver. 1.2.0 and earlier are not compatible with Ver. 1.3.0, so users are advised to convert replays to video files before downloading the update.
