“Met Office Issues Fresh Rain Alert for Eastern Scotland”

The Met Office has issued a fresh rain alert, cautioning about potential flooding and travel disruptions in four specific regions. The yellow warning will be active from midnight today until 9 am on Sunday, affecting parts of eastern Scotland. According to the Met Office, there is a risk of flooding for homes and businesses, potential disruptions to bus and train services, and longer journey times due to wet road conditions. Residents are advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and prepare for potential power outages by having essential items such as torches, batteries, and a mobile phone power pack ready.

After a prolonged period of heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm in some areas over the past three days, the Met Office forecasts another day of persistent and occasionally heavy rain before easing off on Saturday night. The affected regions are expected to receive an additional 20mm to 30mm of rain, with isolated areas possibly experiencing up to 50mm.
