Peter Andre’s friends have criticized his former partner, Katie Price, following her surprising engagement announcement. Through an Instagram Story, the 47-year-old mother of five revealed her ninth engagement after a grand proposal from Lee Andrews, a businessman based in Dubai.
In her social media post, Katie credited “manifesting works” while displaying photos of her large engagement ring and a luxurious bath filled with rose petals at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. Nevertheless, Peter’s close circle, who stood by the singer during his acrimonious split from Katie in 2009, have raised doubts about the timing of her sensational revelation.
A source pointed out that Katie’s announcement coincided closely with Peter, 52, releasing his new song, “Rock You Right,” suggesting that she was attempting to divert attention from the father of her two children, Junior, 20, and Princess, 18.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the source remarked, “Katie can’t bear to be without a partner, she craves male attention and will resort to any means to stay in the limelight. Many are questioning the authenticity of it all, wondering if it’s just Katie being Katie.”
They further commented, “Considering that Peter had just released his single hours earlier, it’s evident that Katie doesn’t want Peter to receive all the attention while she gets none. It’s a classic Katie move that she has been pulling off for years.”

Following the surprising news, Katie’s former younger partner, JJ Slater, 32, finalized their split by unfollowing her on Instagram. Reports revealed that JJ’s profile no longer follows Katie, while Katie still follows her ex from Married At First Sight UK.
