Inside Sir Bruce Forsyth’s Abandoned Mansion: A Peek Behind the Gates

Sir Bruce Forsyth’s magnificent mansion has finally come into the spotlight, nearly a decade after his passing. Renowned for captivating audiences for over 75 years through beloved TV shows like The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, and Strictly Come Dancing, the iconic star brought joy and laughter to countless viewers before stepping back from the limelight in April 2014 after a successful ten-year run on the BBC ballroom show.

Tragically, in 2017, the legendary entertainer passed away at the age of 89 from bronchial pneumonia at his opulent Wentworth Estate residence, a property his widow Wilnelia eventually sold for a substantial £5.7 million in April 2020. Following his demise, the luxurious estate has remained unoccupied, leading to its gradual deterioration.

As the highly anticipated Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour gears up for its launch in Birmingham this weekend, we take an exclusive peek inside the deserted mansion of the revered presenter, Sir Bruce.

For the past six years, Sir Bruce’s former abode at Wentworth Estate has been shielded by imposing metal gates, with neighbors expressing concerns over the overgrowth of moss and weeds surrounding the property. Wilnelia, following her decision to downsize, sold the estate to a businesswoman, leaving the lavish property vacant.

Nestled within the estate’s grounds is a quaint cottage tucked away in the garden, while the once vibrant tennis court and gardens have been left neglected since Wilnelia’s departure.

Situated in the “super exclusive” Wentworth Estate, the extravagant mansion has played host to illustrious neighbors such as Dame Judi Dench and Angelina Jolie. Boasting ten reception rooms, a cinema room, library, wine cellar, gym, and a swimming pool, the house also features a private spa area overlooking the sprawling gardens.
