“Conor McGregor Postpones UFC Fight at White House”

Conor McGregor has officially declared that he will not be participating in the upcoming UFC event at the White House as previously speculated. The anticipated match between McGregor and Michael Chandler, scheduled for June 14 on President Donald Trump’s front lawn, has been postponed, with McGregor now set to make his comeback in July instead. UFC CEO Dana White is set to unveil the details of the White House card this weekend, but McGregor’s name is expected to be absent from the lineup.

In an interview with Smash Cast, McGregor expressed his initial excitement about the White House event, highlighting the potential matchup with Chandler as a thrilling opportunity. However, plans shifted, and McGregor was informed that he might be included in the International Fight Week lineup instead. Despite his admiration for Chandler and the preparations made for their bout, McGregor acknowledged the change in plans and expressed his eagerness to return to the octagon.

Furthermore, McGregor revealed his intention to return at welterweight, emphasizing his increased size and readiness for any opponent offered to him. While awaiting a formal contract for his next fight, McGregor remains hopeful for a favorable offer following discussions with his manager in Las Vegas.

With McGregor out of the White House card, speculation now surrounds the possibility of Jon Jones headlining the event in his return to the cage, potentially facing former middleweight and light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, who recently vacated his 205lb title.
