“CM Punk Graces Cover of WWE 2K26, New Features Revealed”

The upcoming release of the latest WWE game is just a few weeks away, promising exciting new features and a larger lineup of superstars than ever before.

WWE 2K26’s launch date, pre-order specifics, and other key details have been unveiled, with the current champion set to grace the cover of the standard edition. The cover star is none other than the self-proclaimed “best in the world,” CM Punk, making his return to the forefront after previously being featured on WWE 2K13. The game will also spotlight Punk in the 2K Showcase mode, delving into his controversial career.

Unfortunately, Xbox One and PS4 owners will be disappointed as WWE 2K26 will not be available on these older generation consoles. The game is set to release on March 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Aside from the standard edition featuring CM Punk, three additional editions have been confirmed. The King of Kings Edition pays homage to former WWE champ Triple H, while the Attitude Era Edition includes a lineup of late-1990s to early 2000s wrestling icons. A ‘super-premium’ Monday Night War Edition commemorates the legendary battle between WWE and WCW, showcasing iconic wrestlers from that era.

All special editions will be available a week before the standard edition, which is officially scheduled for release on March 13 at a price of £69.99. A pre-order bonus, the Joe Hendry Pack, will be included with all editions, offering themed extras featuring the Scottish superstar.

The game will revolve around CM Punk in the annual showcase mode, allowing players to relive his iconic matches and face off against WWE Legends in Fantasy Warfare. The roster for WWE 2K26 has been significantly expanded to over 400 playable characters, including new additions such as Rey Fenix, Rusev, and Blake Monroe.

Excitingly, the game introduces four new match types, some of which have not been seen in WWE games since 2017. Universe Mode now includes a Draft feature, enhancing the gameplay experience for fantasy bookers. The Ringside Pass replaces the previous DLC model, offering a Season Pass-like structure with new characters and rewards.

For Nintendo Switch 2 users, special features leveraging the motion-control, mouse, and touchscreen capabilities of the console will be available. GameShare and GameChat functionalities will enhance the gaming experience on Switch 2, along with support for single Joy-Con gameplay and mouse controls in the Creation Suite.

WWE fans can also expect cross-platform Community Creations and Image Uploader options on Nintendo Switch.
