A 10-year-old child is currently in critical condition after being struck by a car while crossing Honeypot Lane in the Stanmore area of London around 8:30 am on Sunday. The child was using a scooter when the incident occurred.
Following the accident, a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been questioned under caution and released on bail.
Authorities reported that the child was hit by a car while crossing the road on his scooter at 8:30 am. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance provided initial treatment before transporting the child to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The driver, identified as a 28-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was taken into custody on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been questioned and released on bail pending further investigation.
Police are seeking any footage related to a black Volkswagen Golf GTI involved in the collision between 8:15 am and 8:35 am on the same morning.
