A recent scam targeting individuals who made Amazon purchases in March has raised concerns. The fraudulent message falsely claims a “product recall” has been initiated and prompts recipients to click a link to receive a refund. The message advises users to stop using the product immediately.
The deceptive text, viewed by Mirror Online, states that an item from a March 2026 order has been recalled due to a design flaw posing a safety risk. However, this alert is a phishing scam aimed at tricking customers into divulging their Amazon account credentials, potentially leading to unauthorized transactions or data theft.
While this scam is relatively new, it is not the first time Amazon customers have encountered such schemes. In a similar incident in February, cybercriminals sent messages alleging a safety-related product recall, directing recipients to a fake Amazon page.
Amazon has cautioned customers to be vigilant against scams that pressure them to act urgently. The company advises reporting suspected scams to safeguard accounts and assist law enforcement in apprehending perpetrators.
Amazon also suggests exercising caution with unfamiliar phone numbers or texts, unexpected order/delivery messages, and links with misspellings or unusual URLs. Being mindful of these factors can help users avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
