Death in Paradise filming came to a standstill when the lead actor needed immediate medical attention following a strange mishap.

Ben Miller, known for his role as Detective Inspector Richard Poole on the BBC drama set in the Caribbean, encountered unexpected challenges during the filming of the show’s first season in Guadeloupe back in 2010.

During an interview with Express.co.uk, Miller recounted his experiences filming in a tropical location for an extended period. He mentioned two peculiar incidents that occurred while working alongside co-star Sara Martins.

One incident involved heat stroke, which led him to attempt to strip off his clothes in the middle of a scene due to the intense heat from wearing a wool suit. The other incident saw a bizarre insect flying into his ear during a scene at the police station, requiring a visit to a local doctor to remove it.

Additionally, Miller shared that filming was disrupted on another occasion due to the presence of crabs on the beaches in Guadeloupe, which had to be cleared before shooting could resume.

These unexpected and amusing incidents added to the challenges and unique experiences encountered by the actor during his time filming Death in Paradise.
