A popular year-round Christmas store that has brought joy to customers for six years is getting ready to permanently close its doors, leaving locals saddened by the news.
Situated in the Telford World Heritage Site in Ironbridge, Shropshire, The Little Christmas Shop has been selling a variety of decorations, gifts, and trinkets since its inception six years ago.
The store’s management has announced that it will cease operations on Sunday, October 19, offering a clearance sale with prices slashed by 50%.
The Little Christmas Shop was part of the Copper Fox and Woodland Tea Room, known for serving festive afternoon teas and being the first tearoom in Britain dedicated entirely to Christmas.
In a message shared on the shop’s social media platforms, the proprietors expressed their gratitude to customers, friends, and the community for their support over the years. They explained that the decision to close the business after six years in Ironbridge was a difficult but necessary one.
The shop’s final day of operation will be on October 19th, with all remaining stock available at a 50% discount. Gift vouchers must be redeemed by this date for in-store purchases only.
Customers who had booked festive afternoon teas are advised to expect refunds, and they are encouraged to use up any vouchers and make Christmas purchases before the store’s closure.
Neighboring businesses, such as the Heritage View Guest House, shared their sentiments, expressing sadness at the impending closure and reminiscing about the positive experiences they had at the shop.
Despite the closure, the proprietors emphasized that the memories and connections made during their time in Ironbridge will always be cherished. They thanked both local independent suppliers and larger companies for their support and expressed gratitude to everyone who had been part of their journey.
As the shop prepares to shut its doors for the final time, customers are urged to take advantage of the discounted prices and stock up on Christmas items before the closing date.
