Amazon Moves Up Release Dates for Fallout Season 2 Finale

In an unexpected move by Amazon, the last two installments of Fallout Season 2 will be released earlier than originally planned.

The small screen adaptation of Bethesda’s popular RPG series seems to be holding strong, with the first six episodes of the season maintaining an 8/10 average rating on IMDb. Despite the positive reception, the viewership numbers are slightly lower compared to Season 1.

While it may not be a direct comparison, as Season 1 dropped all episodes at once while Season 2 has a weekly release schedule, this difference could explain Amazon’s decision to move up the release dates of the final two episodes.

Regrettably, this schedule change does not offer much benefit to UK viewers. Instead of the expected 8 am GMT release on January 28 and February 4, episodes 7 and 8 will now premiere at 2 am.

The adjustment of six hours actually favors viewers in the US, as previous Fallout episodes debuted at midnight on the west coast. Now, fans can enjoy an evening viewing with the episodes airing at a more convenient 6 pm PT.

The modification in release times was communicated by Amazon on the official Fallout TV show’s account. The statement mentioned that due to high engagement and interest, the start times for the remaining Season Two episodes have been altered.

Season 2 of Fallout has transported its characters to the world of New Vegas, a setting popularized by Obsidian Entertainment in 2010. With various storylines awaiting resolution, the final two episodes hold much ground to cover. Despite that, Amazon has already given the green light for a third season, hinting at potential cliffhangers.

The future direction of the show remains uncertain, but elements from the Commonwealth have begun to emerge. Season 3 could potentially venture further east, possibly exploring locales like Washington DC or Boston.

While the path ahead is unclear, the show’s creators are eager to resume work on the project promptly. Executive producer Jonathon Nolan expressed a desire to bring the show back to the screen swiftly.

For now, fans eagerly await the unfolding of Fallout’s narrative in the upcoming episodes.
