Recently, this road has become a symbol of joy, especially as Arden shared smiling photos with her partner and now wife, Thordis Elva, an Icelandic author and advocate for digital rights and gender equality. It was only fitting that Arden announced their marriage with a picture of the couple in white attire on Jann’s road, captioned with “Wife and wife” on Instagram, revealing their wedding date as August 15, 2026.

In a statement to CBC News, Arden described their wedding as a “beautiful, kickass gathering with dear friends and family,” expressing gratitude for the magical and surreal experience. She humorously added that they wish they could do it all over again the following weekend.

The couple first crossed paths at a writers’ retreat in Iceland, where former Icelandic first lady Eliza Reid unintentionally played matchmaker. Notable guests at the wedding included Reid and various Canadian celebrities and media personalities, as well as American comedian Chelsea Handler.
