Melanie Forbes scored Ottawa’s first goal in the 13th minute, while Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the net for third-place Toronto (7-4-4).

The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto. Additionally, earlier on the same day, TD Place in Ottawa was announced as the venue for the Northern Super League final scheduled for November 14th.
