Queen’s Brian May Hints at Tour Changes Amid Safety Concerns

Queen’s legendary guitarist, Sir Brian May, expressed disappointment over the current situation and hinted at potential changes to their tour plans. The iconic band, last seen on stage with Adam Lambert in 2020, may avoid a beloved location due to safety concerns.

Brian, a founding member of Queen with Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor, reminisced about the band’s formative years in the US but noted a significant shift in the country’s atmosphere.

In light of the turbulent political climate under the leadership of Donald Trump, Brian cautioned against the perceived risks in the US, emphasizing the need to be cautious. He lamented the changes in America, a place Queen once cherished but now views differently.

Commenting further on the situation, Brian remarked that many are reevaluating their plans to visit the US currently.

Following Trump’s second term inauguration, his administration faced scrutiny for its policies, particularly concerning the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). The agency’s actions, aimed at addressing illegal immigration, have led to increased arrests and detentions with rising tensions and protests, notably in Minneapolis.

Political considerations have previously influenced Queen’s tour decisions, with Brian stating that the band would not perform at Glastonbury due to ideological differences with the organizers.

Known for his activism, Brian highlighted his opposition to badger culling, citing it as a reason for Queen’s absence from certain events. His stance drew criticism from festival founder Sir Michael Eavis, who labeled Brian a threat to farming practices.

When asked about Queen’s potential participation in the festival, Brian indicated that the topic had not been discussed due to his known stance on the matter.
