British Girl’s Family Criticizes Moroccan Authorities

The family of a seven-year-old British girl who vanished after being carried away by the sea while on a family vacation has criticized local authorities in Morocco. Inaayah Makda, from Blackburn, was struck by a large wave while watching the sunset with her parents on a beach in Casablanca. Her parents, Zubair and Tasneem Makda, were also swept into the sea but lost sight of their daughter in the chaos.

Relatives have condemned Moroccan police and emergency services for their lack of assistance in the search for Inaayah, labeling their behavior as “inhumane.” The parents, still in Casablanca, have enlisted a private search team with a helicopter to aid in the search efforts.

Inaayah’s father, Zubair, recounted how a sudden tide swept them all away, with the family members being separated from the missing girl. He expressed frustration with the local police, describing them as ineffective and unresponsive.

Gillian Wilton, head teacher at Roe Lee Park Primary School in Blackburn, expressed sadness over Inaayah’s disappearance and extended support to her family. Masters of Martial Arts Blackburn also shared their sympathy and support for Inaayah and her family during this difficult time.

A Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that consular staff are assisting the family of the missing British national in Morocco and are liaising with local authorities.
