Narelle Fraser, a highly esteemed law enforcement officer in Australia, dedicated 15 years to investigating severe crimes, ranging from child exploitation to acts of terrorism. One case that has deeply impacted her is that of John Sharpe, known as the Mornington Monster.
Expressing her bewilderment, Fraser highlighted how Sharpe not only killed his pregnant wife, Anna, but also his young daughter, Gracie, subjecting the child to unimaginable suffering. The tragic events unfolded in March 2004 when Anna Kemp, aged 41, was reported missing by her mother, Valerie, from New Zealand.
Initially claiming Anna had left with another man, Sharpe’s suspicious behavior led to his arrest after a series of peculiar texts raised concerns. The couple’s history revealed marital strain, particularly regarding their daughter’s medical condition and Anna’s second pregnancy, which fueled Sharpe’s resentment and paranoia.
Sharpe’s disturbing confession detailed how he fatally shot Anna with a speargun while she slept, later dismembering her body. Subsequently, he tragically killed Gracie with the same weapon, disposing of their bodies in a chilling manner. Sharpe was convicted of the double murder in 2005 and is set for parole in 2037.
