A mother of four was discovered fatally injured outside her residence and succumbed to blood loss resulting from neck wounds, according to details revealed during an inquest.
Tania Williams, aged 49, was declared deceased following a police response to Thorpe St Andrew in Norwich, Norfolk on January 17. Her former partner, Raymond Williams, faces charges of murdering his estranged wife and is scheduled for trial in July.
The inquest into Ms. Williams’ demise has commenced at Norfolk Coroner’s Court. Area coroner Johanna Thompson informed the court that a post-mortem examination determined the cause of death as “hypovolemic shock” due to blood loss from “incised wounds to the neck.”
Ms. Williams, who was identified by her son on January 21, had been employed as a security officer, as per court records. Coroner Thompson adjourned the inquest pending the outcome of legal proceedings.
Raymond Lee Williams, residing on Dereham Road, has been accused of murdering Ms. Williams. He appeared via prison video-link from HMP Norwich at Norwich Crown Court on January 22 for an initial hearing, where he only confirmed his details.
Judge Anthony Bate scheduled a trial starting on July 20, expected to span between seven to ten days with a two-week allowance. A plea and trial preparation hearing is set for February 27. Williams was remanded into custody without bail by Judge Bate.
Ms. Williams was a prominent member of the congregation at the parish church of Thorpe St Andrew.
