The upcoming Season 2 of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 and Warzone is set to kick off early next week, and Activision has unveiled a comprehensive lineup of new content for players, including a total of nine fresh maps throughout the season.
Starting on February 5, the rollout of maps will not be simultaneous, with four maps debuting on the first day and the remaining five scheduled for later release during the season. While Black Ops 7 has faced challenges since its launch, with some considering it the series’ weakest entry, the arrival of four classic remastered maps has piqued the interest of long-standing fans.
Among the new maps are remastered versions of Slums, Grind, Firing Range, and the rebranded Yemen from Black Ops 2.
Slums, originally featured in Black Ops 2, has made appearances in subsequent titles like Black Ops 3, 4, and Cold War. The map is known for its narrow pathways and an open fountain area, situated in Panama.
Grind, a beloved map from Black Ops 2, retains its popularity in the current installment, offering a vibrant skate park setting with both outdoor and indoor combat zones.
Yemen, originally from Black Ops 2, returns under a new name in the latest release.
Lastly, Firing Range, an iconic map from the original Black Ops game in 2010, reappears in Black Ops 7. Known for its military firing range setting and recognizable structures, the map has been a fan favorite across various titles in the series.
The Season 2 launch on February 5 will introduce a mix of new maps and other content to Black Ops 7. In addition to the map updates, players can expect new game modes like Safeguard, Overdrive, and Luck Confirmed, along with a new killstreak resembling Titanfall’s Smart Pistol, and the addition of Ranked Play for competitive gamers.
Furthermore, the season will bring new cosmetic skins, a fresh battle pass, and additional content for Zombies and Warzone. For a detailed list of Season 2 additions, players can visit the official Call of Duty blog.
