“5th Suspect Apprehended in Trafford Shooting Case”

Police apprehended a fifth individual in relation to a shooting incident in Trafford that occurred last week. Authorities responded to reports of a shooting on Higher Road in Urmston late on Friday, January 16. A 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound and received immediate medical attention before being transported to the hospital. The Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the man is currently in stable but critical condition.

A spokesperson for the police department disclosed the recent arrest made in connection with the ongoing investigation. The new suspect, a 38-year-old man, was taken into custody on suspicions of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Previously, four other men aged 18, 21, 25, and 28 were also arrested on similar charges.

The four previously detained individuals have been released on bail pending further inquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant, overseeing the case from GMP’s Trafford district, emphasized the commitment to apprehending those involved in the incident. He reiterated a zero-tolerance stance towards such violent acts and reassured the public of the progress in arresting multiple suspects connected to the case.
