A well-known online beauty retailer may be up for sale as reports suggest that advisors have been engaged to assess the company’s future. Founded in 1999 by brothers Arron and David Gabbie, Beauty Bay, headquartered in Manchester, offers a wide array of products from over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, and MAC, alongside its own product line.
According to a recent report from Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure new funding, potentially leading to a complete sale of the business. Interpath, an advisory firm, is said to be collaborating with Beauty Bay on this matter.
Employing a staff of 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has not yet provided a statement to Mirror regarding these developments. This news follows the recent announcement of the administration of beauty brand Malin + Goetz, resulting in the closure of all seven of its UK stores and affecting over 70 jobs.
While online orders for Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, customers can still purchase their products through third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK. The company’s spokesperson expressed regret over the closure of UK stores and the associated job losses, citing the challenging decision following an extensive business review.
Although Malin + Goetz’s website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, the exact duration remains uncertain. Established in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, the brand initially offered six products catering to all skin types before expanding its range to include fragrances, body care items, and other beauty products.
