“Cristiano Ronaldo Statue Set Ablaze in Madeira”

In Madeira, authorities are searching for a culprit who ignited a Cristiano Ronaldo statue and shared the video online. The individual, appearing disheveled, poured a flammable substance on the bronze figure of the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid player, setting it ablaze. Despite the flames engulfing the statue initially, they subsided quickly.

The vandal, known as zaino.tcc.filipe on Instagram, filmed the incident at the CR7 Museum in Funchal, where he executed a strange dance to rap music after the fiery act. In a bizarre message accompanying the video, he wrote, “This is God’s last warning.”

The statue, relocated in 2016 due to previous vandalism, may have sustained damage. Concerned fans, including Ronaldo supporters, criticized the perpetrator on social media. The police have identified the suspect but have not apprehended him yet.

Ronaldo, now playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro league, had posed with his family beside the statue during its unveiling in 2014, calling it a significant moment. The CR7 Museum spokesperson confirmed that law enforcement is handling the case.

Local police disclosed that they have identified the individual responsible for the crime, citing past similar incidents involving the culprit. Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering a vast array of live matches from various leagues.
